Reading and writing

Third through fifth grade students come to our room during the day for help with reading and writing skills.  Our room can be a busy place, with lots of things going on!
Reading groups practice their skills by reading Accelerated Reading books, both fiction and nonfiction.  We also practice sight words, decoding skills, visual and auditory memory, and reading comprehension.
Writing activities help students practice those skills.  Each student has his/her own journal to keep written assignments.  We work on organizing ideas, mechanics, and spelling.
We always try to have fun while strengthening important skills!
